I visited the beautiful Italian city Trieste and decided to film a little vlog/music video to demonstrate the days I´ve spent there and the beauty of this city.

The task was to create a video that concentrates on one chosen feeling, trying to explain and convey it through moving images and sounds only. The feeling I chose is loneliness. I used my old digital camera fir this to give it a nostalgic feeling to it.

The protagonist for this story is the aspiring artist Valeria, who tries to paint a portrait of her friend Sabrina. However, it’s not as easy as she expected. Her conflict in the story is to come to terms with her artist struggles and find a new outlook on her own art.

Valeria is a deep soul with an artistic spirit. Her passion to create has brought her to painting and the art of illustration. She doesn’t view herself as particularly gifted and often struggles to hit the high standards she set for herself with her art. Whenever she struggles, she tends to question her own abilities. But despite the turmoil her artistic lows bring her, she never truly gives up on her passion. This makes her a determined artist who strives to become better to express her true feelings towards the world.

In this task, my classmates and I were supposed to showcase a certain momentum of Sevillan life. We decided to take an everyday life approach and therefore chose to film a typical night for the restaurant workers of the Mexican restaurant Mano De Santo.
